my keynotes

  • Inclusion is Your Key To Unlocking Diversity

    Whether implicit or unconscious, bias is the number one threat to humanity and any company’s success. If your company’s goal is to create cohesiveness within your organization, increase revenue, be innovative and/or elevate your reputation- the bias in your workforce and community is a roadblock. You know the problem.

    Inclusion is your key to unlocking diversity.

    Throughout this session, Sarah enables attendees to authentically express their biases, while giving them easily applicable tools to get over them, however screwed up they may be. Although diversity can often be an uncomfortable topic, Sarah’s approach helps attendees to easily understand the concept, without feeling bored or judged.

    Attendees will leave this talk with:

    • An understanding of Diversity & Inclusion;

    • A thorough awareness of their biases and how the came to be; and

    • Tools to address bias internally and externally

  • Allyship - How You Can Support DEI

    The conversations of the past have done little to impact systemic inequalities and institutionalized discrimination. Now is the time for real conversations that drive transformative change.  There is a will and desire to make change happen but people don’t know where to start.

    Allyship shares how everyone can play their part and support Inclusion and Diversity.

    During this interactive keynote presentation, Sarah will continue a critical conversation on privilege —and uncover actionable next steps to create space for other people to experience that privilege. It’s  Allyship that will lift and support other people, actively and intentionally, especially those who have historically been underrepresented or marginalized in the past. Allyship has become a significant buzzword in recent years as a result of the focus on discrimination in our organisations and societies, but it’s important for people to really understand how to best put allyship into action to drive meaningful change for all populations in the organization.

    Attendees will leave this talk with:

    • Awareness of what effective allyship looks like through examples and stories;

    • A framework to use that is practical and actionable to build your ability to be an ally; and

    • A plan of action and next steps to make change happen.

  • Don't Walk On By - How to Become An Active Bystander and Challenge Injustice

    Violence against women is growing, we are seeing it in the headlines more and more. In workplaces in the halls of power to mining sites it feels like women aren’t safe when they are trying to earn a living. Then for some women the workplace is a refuge from being at home with a violent partner and the order during COVID to stay at home was terrifying for them.

    Don’t Walk On By shares how you can become an active bystander who challenges injustice and abusive behaviours.

    During this keynote, Sarah will share stories of lived experience from Domestic Violence Charities she has worked with to bring to life what it is like to be in an abusive relationship whether that’s at work or home. Enough is enough and it’s time for individuals and organisations to take action and support others through this traumatic time.

    Attendees will leave this talk with:

    • Awareness of the extent of violence on women and it’s impact;

    • What to do if you know someone who may be experiencing violence; and

    • Tools of what to do and how to help yourself and others.
